Matching gifts with opportunities—how CFMC impacts Merced County.
CFMC is the vehicle for individuals and businesses throughout the county of Merced to make change. We leverage community assets by supporting local solutions to local problems and by helping to build community strengths.
The Foundation has leveraged its $2 million endowment to award over $3 million in grant and scholarship funding to benefit residents and non-profits throughout Merced County. 91.8% of each dollar donated to the foundation goes directly to grantees and scholarship recipients.
CFMC’s Giving History / 2015-2022

Supporting Higher Learning through Scholarships
CFMC Scholarships Program allows us to support the success of Merced County youth through funds established to support educational expenses, including tuition, housing, books, supplies, and other educational fees. Awards are typically paid directly to the institution providing instruction.
Igniting Curiosity at the Kids Discovery Station
CFMC supports the Kids Discovery Station; a nonprofit organization creating opportunities for children of Merced to learn through the power of play. Children of all incomes and ages throughout the county benefit from high quality and innovative programing. Education is an integral part of the Kids Discovery Station’s mission.
Merced County Food Bank
CFMC supports the Merced County’s Food Bank’s (MCFB) mission to improve the health and well-being of Merced and Mariposa County residents affected by hunger through the acquisition, storage, and distribution of nutritious food. MCFB serves as a lifeline for our communities, maintaining and improving the health of our community’s low-income and food insecure populations.
Supporting Health Centers
CFMC supports Merced County’s health care safety net by making contributions to each of the Federal Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) operating in Merced. These nonprofit clinics provide high-quality medical homes for county residents regardless of their income or capacity to pay. Clinics currently funded by CFMC include Livingston Health, Castle Health, and Golden Valley Health Centers.
